lizards vs ants

Its quite a common sight to see lizards roaming around the sofas in my living room...looking for liltle victims(ants) to eat...haha

I used to do my homework in the living room..where my focus on my work would most probably drift away in a few seconds..n i would find myself observing those little creatures...

it selects a target
it pauses..."stares"at it
it pounces at it..all of a sudden
and sadhu..the poor ant ends up in its tummy

however,

whenever i spot a lizard trying to eat an ant,i would immediately shoo the lizard away..
"saving" the day of that poor ant...LOL..i would stamp my feet..or hit the floor...and the "frightened" lizard rushes back under the sofa...my theory is...WE SHOULD TRY OUR BEST TO SAVE EVERY LIFE RIGHT?though it is just an ant...but hey...it is one precious life mah..imagine if u were that ant..poor thing right..all of a sudden..ur life ended..end up being the supper of that dum dum lizard...

and there is where the "DEBATE" between my sis and me begins...

"JIE JIE arr...u know what is food chain anot....the lizard is hungry lah...can you stop shooing the lizard away?"
"hey,u want that ant to die merr?!"
*roll eyes*"u want that lizard to starve to death?I would rather stand by the side of the lizard...at least it is more useful..they eat mosquitoes"*roll eyes*
"HAIYOR...they can always find other food ma..as long as i dont see it..."
"SWT LAH U..leave them alone!"

there goes..we had this "debate" for several times d lor...
haha..yea i know..this is abit THE lame...
but then..im still kinda curious...hee

what do u guys reckon...
